I have a short story published in the new anthology, Futuristic Motherhood: Alternative Visions of Motherhood, speculative fiction stories about the future of motherhood. My contribution is about a woman coming home from a failed colony to meet the now-adult daughter she left behind on Earth.
ETA: the editor of this anthology did not pay me (and at least one other writer), so even if this anthology sounds like something you’d like to read, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t buy it off her.

I was also duped by Trula. One of my short stories was to appear in the same anthology. I was never paid and I never recieved the promised contributor copies. My emails to her went unanswered.
I haven’t found any proof that the antho was actually published or that copies were sold.
PS: I recently found through Writers Weekly .com’s forum, Whispers and Warnings, that one contributing writer actually tracked down Trula and got PAID for her story and she received her 2 contributor’s copies (with the help of the Ohio Attorney general’s office.
I’ve contacted Angela Hoy at Writers Weekly for more info as to who to contact at the OH Atty Gen.’s office.
Let me know if you’re interested in getting paid from trula too. 8)
Thanks for the update, Kay. I contacted the OH AG a while back but nothing came of it for me, but it’s good someone else managed to get paid. I’ve pretty much given up on it now.
Hi Wendy,
I just received my two authors copies today and a promise of payment. However, I never received an acceptance or a rejection so I was totally unaware that I had a story out. Has this anthology been out since Dec 2009? Did you sign a contract?
Hi Leslie
There was no formal contract but there was an email exchange in which I gave permission to publish it and we mutually agreed to terms (which counts as a contract, at least in my state). Yes, it was published in December 2009.
Seems like the whole thing was very unprofessional but at least she does seem to be making the effort to pay at least some of the writers (I have yet to hear from her or receive anything).
Thanks for getting back to me, Wendy! She obviously has no clue that what she did was wrong as evidenced by sending me my two author’s copies. I suspect this complaint is from another author in this antho (because of the timing)

I’ve send Trula an email and I’ll let you know what comes of it.
Leslie,
If you have a current mailing or email address for Trula, please let us know. There are over a dozen writers that have never been compensated for the stories she used in her anthology.
With her constant name changes and the numerous websites she creates and dumps, the Ohio Atty. General can’t help any of us.
Thanks.
Kay
Hi Kay,
I’ve emailed her at trula@MSPmedia.net and the address on the envelope that the books came in is:
236 Avon Belden
Avon Lake, OH 44012
Does that mean illegal goods were mailed across State and International borders?
The book is for sale on amazon.com. Can havoc be wreaked with the customer review button?
I just received a contract and payment in the mail.
Great news…sounds like she’s getting there gradually.
