Atwood: I know! I don’t know what SF she’s been exposed to but she seems to think it’s squids in space and talking cabbages.

And then SF fans get all “well, you’re not good enough to be in our club anyway, so there” (or, maybe, “this is a boy’s club and girls aren’t allowed anyway”, I do get that vibe sometimes…), when she _is_ a good writer who can bring people around to the idea that not all SF is utter crap…if she would just admit she writes the stuff!
